This review is from: Scosche tuneFREQ RDS Wireless FM Transmitter for iPod and iPhone with RDS (Black) (Personal Computers) Product works as anticipated. Pretty handy. The box mentions that it is for iPod, iPhone, and iPad, though the manual states that it works with iPhone 3GS (it doesn't mention support for the iPhone 4, which could be why it didn't work on the other reviewer's iPhone 4 resulting in their negative review of the product), 5th generation iPod nano, 2nd generation iPod Touch (which is what I am using it for), and the iPod Classic. It doesn't need batteries and runs off your iPod's battery when attached. It is completely wireless, though there is a place to plug in a mini usb so you can charge your iPod while utilizing the FM transmitter. This is nice since the Scosche tuneFREQ RDS utilizes/blocks the plug in on the bottom that you would use to charge your iPod. It sounds great, just make sure you keep it pretty close to the radio to avoid static. I either lay my iPod/tuneFREQ horizontal on the center console or upside down in my drink holder with the tuneFREQ facing upward...Read more 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Scosche tuneFREQ RDS Wireless FM Transmitter for iPod and iPhone with RDS (Black) (Personal Computers) This FM transmitter works well. I have used it in 3 cars and two home stereo systems. The sound isn't as good as connecting directly to the AUX inputs on a receiver, but the sound is acceptable. The range is over 10 feet if you can find on open frequency on your FM spectrum that has one or two adjacent open channels. If you can only find one open frequency, the transmitter works but you will have to be a few feet from the receiver antenna. This may be problem if you are in a major metro area and your car radio antenna is in the back window of your van! The channel seek feature sort of works. Sometimes it finds open frequencies, other times it doesn't. But it is really easy to tune using the buttons on the face of the unit. I also have a C Crane FM transmitter. The range is much better on the (modded) C Crane and the sound fidelity is about the same. But the Scosche tuneFREQ is more convenient to use because of the dock attachment to...Read more 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Scosche tuneFREQ RDS Wireless FM Transmitter for iPod and iPhone with RDS (Black) (Personal Computers) This product went way above my expectations and mainly because of the reviews some people left. I bought this product to use with my iPhone 3G since another reviewer said it would not work with their iPhone 4. I was using it with my iPhone this past week with no problems at all and little to no static. (Once I hear the static I just change the station and it works great!! Different areas call for different stations) I don't know where some of these reviewers live but I have great connection throughout Sacramento, California and the Bay Area. I bought the device strictly for my iPhone 3G to use as an iPod because I bought the new iPhone 4S. I did not think it would work with my new iPhone because the previous review saying it did not work with the iPhone 4. Sure enough I plugged it in this morning and it WORKED!! Like i said before, there is very minimal static but that only happens when I enter a new area. All you have to do is change the station and you're good to go! I...Read more |
