Summary: excellent solution for older cars and limited budget 2010-03-11
Comment: I LOVE this device. I bought a flash drive to go with it and boom, I now have music in my '82 Olds and I didn't have to rip the dash apart and spend a fortune. I was a little wary because radio reception in my town is iffy, depending upon which direction you're going, can fade in and out and pick up interference. This played beautifully without any sound issue no matter where I was driving. I had a similar device in the 90's designed to work with a Discman and it was great...until I turned a corner, got near a power line, or basically moved the car. It was also limited in you could only use the one designated frequence programmed by them. This does not have that problem. It does not seem to matter what frequency I choose, my music comes out crystal clear even if the radio station itself does not. It's easily pulled from the lighter so you can take it in with you and not worry about theft. If your car's speakers are decent and you can pick up strong radio signals, this is THE answer. I only gave it 4 stars because it does have a tendency to flop a bit in the lighter jack because my car is old and they probably didn't take into account that we don't all have shiny new contact posts to hold it into place better but ultimately, I highly recommend this product. I've heard it goes through fuses, but until I encounter that problem, I consider this an awesome item, worth every cent.

Summary: Cheap item, lower quality than expected 2010-03-08
Comment: I wanted a cheap easy to use device for my car and bought this one believing it was going to be
a good deal, but I was wrong. It began to get broken only after 5 days of use, the 4th time I
used the Audio-In it began to have a malfunction, in order it to get it works, I had to wrap the
device with the Cable. Sometimes it loses frequency and I have to unplug it and plug it again...
In the last few days it is only sending sound to the right speaker and I have to move up and down
to make it sound as it should.
If you have other choice consider it, because this one is a waste of time and money.

Summary: Works well, but came with incorrect parts 2010-02-24
Comment: I live in a semi-rural area and I find the transmitter works well. I use a Sansa Clip MP3 player with the transmitter. The operation of the transmitter was fairly intuitive. Sometimes the sound can have lots of static and lose some volume. If I readjust the transmitter in the cigarette lighter receptacle the sound returns to good quality. I don't know if this is due to a poor connection to the receptacle, or bad design with the transmitter. In addition, when I pick up the MP3 player to adjust the songs, a lot of static occurs. This isn't a big issue since I don't often fiddle with the MP3 player.
My biggest complaint with this product is that it did not ship with the appropriate connector for the MP3 player. The jack on the transmitter is a female 2.5mm. It shipped with a 6" cord with a 3.5mm male jack on both ends. I had to run down to Radio Shack to buy the correct part which cost me $6. Amazon did a partial refund, but not enough to cover the cost of the new jack. I'm not sure if this is a unique problem with my package. I would have rated this product higher if it came with the correct cord.
I recently discovered that the USB device will also recharge my MP3 player. It will also play the MP3 player through the USB device, but all the songs are lumped into one large folder. I believe the Clip does the lumping. I haven't found a way to navigate to different sub-folders through the transmitter.
I've had this product for 2 months and no technical problems yet.

Summary: Not What I expected 2010-02-15
Comment: I purchasrd this Idem and was not happy with it. The concept is a great idea but the unit is not up to par. I think for the priice you get what you pay for. I would just invest in a better unit. The seller was great about my complaint and was very understanding about my concerns.

Summary: Broke first time the audio cable was inserted. the input connecter came off the printed circute board 2010-02-13
Comment: Tried the device with an SD card and found a clear channel with just three tries. Listen to perfect music reproduction for two days. Tried to plug in the audio cable to attach my iPod touch but the socet for the small end of the audio cable broke off the circute board before the cable was more that half way in. Of course this has made the entire unit usless because now though it says it is playing there is no sound. Major defect in my book, but of course this is physical damage.
