I purchased another product about a year ago (I won't mention their name, but the acronym is VA). It was total garbage, because despite so-called "filters", it picked up every darn bird, squirrel, cat, and everything else. Like the proverbial "Boy who cried wolf", what's the point of an alert system that gives you so many false alarms that you can no longer tell what is real and what isn't?

But, this product is 100x better...or in fairness...PERFECT! It has such an astonishingly accurate beam of detection that I could crawl down my driveway crouched low with my head down, and it wouldn't pick me up (exactly what I wanted, to avoid small dogs triggering it). But, when repeating the same test with my head up, *BINGO*, it got me every time.

Moreover, unlike the other product, you cannot run fast past the sensors. Yea, that might not seem like a big deal, but when potential hoodlums run up your driveway to cause damage to your automobile, you kinda want the device to...Read more

The range of the product is fantastic...we have a very large building that is half warehouse and half office and the transmitter works from one end to the other. There are four different volume settings; the quietest one is pretty quiet but I could understand someone thinking it could be a little quieter and the loudest one is about as loud anyone could want. I also love the fact that it has either a "fan" setting to catch movement over a larger area or a direct setting to have a single line with a smaller diameter that will work for longer distances. It is possible to mount it on the wall pointing out or on the ceiling pointing down. It's really very convenient and will fit with any space.
I do have one complaint though, and unfortunately it's kind of a big one. Occasionally when someone walks through the doorway that the alarm is covering it will fail to make any noise at all until about 2-3 minutes later when it makes the standard ding. I'm not sure what is causing this delay...Read more

This alarm really works well. Too well, actually. I wish there was some way to adjust the sensitivity. Maybe I have a lot of squirrels who like to run up and down the tree to which it is attached. It really goes off much more frequently when the wind is high. I had an Annunciator 1000 for nearly 10 years that worked great and finally died. That's why I bought this one. The signal has to get through a small shed (same location as 1000, no line of sight to the receiver, and about 100 feet) and it certainly does!
