I used this product with my iPod Touch 3G - 64GB and had less that pleasing results.

My iPod fit great, as did my friend's iPhone 3gs. The simplicity of plugging the devices in, and pushing it back to "lock in" works awesome. It is also very adjustable to fit pretty much any iPod made.

The first issue is with interference from the DC port. My car, like many, has a noisy ground loop. For this reason I use a ground loop isolator (GLI) to get rid of whines, whistles, and engine noise when I have a device plugged into the 12 volt port to charge. I was astounded that a device with an MSRP of $99.99 wouldn't have any sort of GLI built in. Not only that, but the device seemed way more susceptible to this noise than my cheap USB and iPod specific car chargers.

Another CON for this unit is that you need to plug in the Dock Connector AND an audio cable. I also have a cheaper, but much less elegant looking FM adapter/mount sold under various name brands including...Read more

Not sure about the bad reviews. Works fine on my 3GS and the FM transmitter seems to work as well as any I have used. A little interference when you use a channel with something near it. IE 99.1 when 99.3 has a radio station. It charges well, keeps up with my phone when using GPS, and the build quality is great. My phone is held in place strong and the rotation to landscape and back is stable and smooth. I had a TomTom mount which broke after a year and was always a pain with cables all over my car and no FM transmitter so I had to have one hanging from it which was really annoying. This unit is all in one and overall it does what's advertised very well.

Let me just say the only reason I didn't return this item is because I through away the packaging too soon... Nothing about it works properly! I can only listen to my iTunes when I am in the middle of nowhere or when I am in some underground parking lot and even then there is still static. It doesn't even charge my iPhone continually, because it somehow loses the connection every few so often. What a disaster of a product... Stay away!
