Summary: Rugged & easy to use! 2010-03-05
Comment: I bought this as a replacement for a similar product from another manufacturer that had great sound but was remarkably fragile (wires separating from the housings) and had a poor connector.

I love, love, love the beefy connector and reinforced cable / housing junctions on this unit! The connector snaps into place and stays firmly connected even when my 4x4 is bouncing on the trail.

For sound quality, I have had a completely different experience than some other reviewers... my sound quality is good. Not great, just good, but I have no trouble finding clear channels and any static I do get, I can eliminate by changing the equalizer settings on my iPhone.

The unit works equally well in both my car and truck ... so much so, that I just bought another one so I don't have to switch it out when I swap vehicles. I'm wondering if the other reviewers might be having reception problems in their car... antenna location perhaps?

Summary: Bad transmitter 2010-02-17
Comment: I have had this transmitter for several months. I got this going against the reviews I had read (Only one said it was good). It works but not well. I later got for my sister a very cheap of brand FM iPod Transmitter and it works 100% better then this "Monster iCarPlay Wireless 800 Fm Transmitter", I would not buy this again. I still use it but I wish I would have returned it. DO NOT BUY IT!!! I do not know how other main brands are but I like all the cheep off brand transmitters better. The only good thing is that it pauses the audio when I kill the car.

Summary: Sound quality is horrible 2010-02-07
Comment: While I can hear the music from my iPod there is constantly fuzziness and interference. I use a different plug in device for my XM radio FM reception and don't get any interference. With the cable it doesn't matter what channel I'm tuned to there is intereference. Sorry, but I can't recommend that anyone buy this product.

Summary: Ugh 2010-02-03
Comment: Got suckered into this FM transmitter with the high $79 price tag at Radio Shack and slick packaging with "monster" brand name hoopla. We live in digital age - that means no static, dig? This device has barely any wattage to overcome radio static in my vehicle, no matter what frequency and I'm in a frigging canyon away from strong FM radio signals. Not acceptable, all monster needed to do was add a pinch more wattage to this device and perhaps the static issue most likely would disappear. Poor engineering, waste of money, enjoy the return and repackaging costs monster - it's your lemon.

Summary: Horrible! 2010-02-01
Comment: We have a Belkin transmitter for one of our vehicles and it works fine. My husband bought this one because the Belkin unit gets in the way of some of the controls in the car. We bought this for a second vehicle. The static and interference is terrible. I tried it with different Ipods, at different locations, on many different stations and you cannot enjoy the music without all types of static. When you move the Ipod around it gets worse. Save yourself aggravation and pass on this.
