Product Review
Product Description
The Monster iCarPlayŽ Wireless 1000 lets you listen to your iPhone and iPod on your car's FM radio. It also charges while you play your music so you can listen for the longest road trips and have plenty of power left when you arrive. Even better, the USB port on the adapter lets you charge virtually any USB device: cell phones, cameras, and more.** You can even plug the iCarPlay into a computer USB port to listen to your iPod on an FM radio at home or at the office.

Comment: It just plain doesn't work. On the infrequent times a signal was received from the unit, it was very very poor. Not worth the money or time.

Summary: Doesn't play the music, signal too weak for stereo on 3 different cars 2010-07-02
Comment: The signal on this lousy device is so weak, that even when there is clearly no signal from any station playing, the car stereo can't pick up the signal from my iPod Touch without a lot of static and barely any music. I have tried many different stations from one end of the FM spectrum to the other and I couldn't get the icarplay to work with my car stereo. I then tried it on two other cars I own just to confirm that it isn't the 05 Accord with the problem but without luck. Don't bother even trying this Monster iCarPlay. This Wireless 1000 FM may be Monster's flagship model, makes me wonder how much worse the other cheaper models are? The only thing it is good for is for charging my iPod Touch; too expensive for that use.
Customer Rating:
Summary: Hard to use-No lower stations 2010-06-08
Comment: The controller for this thing is ridiculously hard to use while driving. When you want to manually scan or autoscan you must press and hold buttons until the display blinks then press the up and down buttons. However, the up and down buttons are marked "M" and "D", while the up and down arrows are beside the "M" and "S" button. "M", "D" and "S" represent your preset stations. So..if you wait to long and the display is no longer blinking when you push a button on manual scan it will take you back to your preset and you will have to start over. The one redeeming quality is they attached a rubber instruction label to the wire, so you will be able to use your overly complicated transmitter.
I got this as a gift so I could not return it. I use it as an extra car charger.
My advice is to look for something with a better controller and a transmitter that can tune down to 87.9 or 87.7 to eliminate more static.

Summary: Doesn't work 2010-05-14
Comment: I have had this Monster iCarPlay Wireless 1000 FM Transmitter for iPod and iPhone for over a month and it has worked maybe 10% of the time. I eventually give up and I am returning it.
Customer Rating:
Summary: Not worth the money 2010-05-03
Comment: I think that this transmitter is garbage. I returned it right away. There is so much static. I know it is not the area I live in because I have an older Monster transmitter that works just fine. The reason I bought a new one was because the older ones don't charge newer ipods. So I guess the quality of there product has gone down. If I wasn't able to return this product it would have gone in the trash.
