It charges and communicates to the PC just as the cable that came with the iPhone4S.
The cord is a bit thicker and stiffer but that is no biggie.
The USB connector is a tad different and a bit harder to insert/remove from the PC. No biggie.
Best feature.........the iPhone connector is no bigger or different from the one supplied by Apple.
It will fit perfectly when used with the LifeProof case while most aftermarket connectors wont.
If you have a LifeProof case and need another cable, buy this one.
