Audio Performance
The TunePro couples the latest NxT flat panel loudspeaker technology with SRS WOW technology for superior audio performance in a slim package. SRS WOW improves the playback quality of compressed audio, creating a more natural and immersive listening experience. SRS TruBass technology ensures a rich, focused low end. All in a package that looks good, too: the award-winning industrial design features an attractive front mirror screen with the Clock display beneath it. The slim profile and small footprint is sure to fit any room.
Designed for iPod
The TunePro is ready for all Apple iPod devices with 30-pin dock connector, including 1st and 2nd generation iPod nano, 4th and 5th generation iPod, iPod Photo, and iPod Mini. It features a universal well dock, with three iPod inserts included. Your iPod charges while docked, so you can listen while you charge. You can also use your iPod with the alarm clock, to wake up to the music of your choice.
AM/FM Alarm Clock Radio
As mentioned above, you can wake to your favorite tune on your iPod, or go more traditional and let the radio or buzzer do the job. The alarm features a gradual volume increase and a sleep timer function, as well as snooze for more difficult mornings. It also features dual independent alarm settings, if you need a second alarm later in the day. The clock supports 12- and 24-hour time formats, and has three dimmer display levels to dial in the ideal brightness. The radio features five AM and five FM radio presets.

I'm quite pleased with the Tunepro, especially in comparison with similar products, most of which cost much more. Sound quality is surprisingly good when the WOW feature is turned, not boomy at all, tuner is OK, clock and alarm work OK, product design (appearance and function) are very good. Only criticism is that there is no battery backup for the clock. 11 of 12 people found the following review helpful: By Tal (Los Gatos, CA United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Macally Flat-Panel Stereo System with AM/FM, Alarm Clock, and iPod Dock (Black) (Electronics) I was looking for something to dock my Nano (1st gen) to which would double as an alarm clock. This works great. The overall look is very minimal, sleek and somewhat reflective. The clock does not light up half my room (like my old one) and is very easy to read at night. The main issue I have with it is that there is no way to turn off the alarm in the morning without disabling the alarm. Or if there is, I haven't found it. This means that you have to remember to set the alarm again- unlike other clocks which just have an 'off' button. The off button on this one just acts as a snooze. I suppose if it came with instructions, that might help. But that drawback just drops it a notch in the ratings. Other than that, FM sounds good, ipod sounds good. I haven't had a chance to test AM, but it does have an antenna for it.
Oh, and the power cord could be longer. I would think that most people put this on their nightstand and drop the cord down to plug in. If your plug...Read more 16 of 19 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Macally Flat-Panel Stereo System with AM/FM, Alarm Clock, and iPod Dock (Black) (Electronics) This product has a hugh design flaw. When you use the ipod as the source of music for the alarm clock, you can't control the volume. When the time comes for the alarm to go, the ipod turns on and the music plays with the volume rapidly rising to the full volume output. You can't control the maximum volume; thus, you will be blasted out of your bed and your neighbors will wonder why you are doing this. I called customer support at Macally and they acknowledge that this is a design flaw and there is nothing that can be done about it by the user. Save yourself the trouble--if you don't buy this you won't have to return it. |
