We bought this product for our iPhone 3G and it worked fine. However, we noticed that the battery would drain very quickly when we plugged it into the iPhone 4 that we recently purchased. I confirmed with Kensington that this item is not compatible with iPhone 4, so I thought I'd share this in case you are looking for a battery charger for your iPhone 4. Otherwise, it works great with the other generations of iPhone. Kensington did mention that a charger may be available for iPhone soon, but they wouldn't/couldn't advise as to when such an item will be available.

I bought the battery right before a trans-Atlantic flight. The battery is small enough to fit in your pocket, but powerful enough to last all day. During the flight I watched 5 hours of video (2 feature movies), then listened to music while playing games for another 2 hours. All of this and the battery was only down 1 (of 5) LED's!!! This is on top of "topping off" my phone's internal battery from 80% to 100%. The music + games had previously drained my phone's battery on a 4 hour flight.
In addition to the long life of the battery, it's also endowed with 2 other great features. First, it is designed to let you watch video landscape mode, a big plus. Second, the built-in USB charging capability is great... it avoids the need to carry extra cables (assuming you have a USB device with you on the trip).
For the record, I use the battery on a iPhone 3G 16GB edition.

I met the Kensington rep at an event where he was showing the Travel Battery Pack and Charger to a group of us. I've used a number of other plug in batteries, but this one has a lot more juice for a compact package. The bonus is that I can watch movies on the plane while I'm charging my phone. Works great and USB connector means I don't have to carry an extra cable.
