Summary: At least this piece of junk was free... 2008-08-13
Comment: I bought an older model Kensington transmitter last fall when I got my new iPod and for about 9 months it worked like a dream. Sure, you had to search for a new station every now and then, but it did what it was supposed to do.
Then the stupid thing stopped playing through my front driver side speaker. All three other speakers played fine (*and with radio and CD all four are perfect), but with the glories of stereo sound, having one channel not play was a problem.
I was sent this model as a free replacement after first speaking to a tremendously unhelpful customer service rep off in India who claimed my first transmitter wasn't even compatible with the 80G iPod classic I have. Of course, she was wrong, something confirmed by the email customer service. (Nota bene: if you need to deal with these idiots at Kensington, just use the email and save yourself a lot of headache).
So this piece arrived today. I'd read the reviews on here and knew I wasn't getting much of anything for free - buy hey, they gave me a replacement after admitting their fault (so I'll give them that for credit.)
This thing is total junk. Sitting in my driveway scanning through my usual "best" stations for the iPod I was confronted with overwhelming static and poor sound. I don't know which is worse - crunchy sound or a missing channel. I'm thinking the channel.
One thing is sure - next time I'm buying from a different company...

Summary: Kensington LiquidFM Transmitter for ipod 2008-06-18
Comment: I found the quality of the reception for this device to be well below the quality of others. The older Kensington model that I have for another vehicle worked extremely well and I wish I would have purchased that one instead.

Summary: Not pleased ! 2008-05-17
Comment: Not pleased ith this at all. I much rather the model before this one. It pickes up signals that is should not and the sound quality is terrible. I have the same cr and drive the same roues as with the one I have before and the difference is very noticible. I don't even use it anymore.

Summary: Terrible Product 2008-04-23
Comment: Clearly inferior in performance than Kensington's older, discontinued model that came in white--model number 33185. Static and hissing was too great to hear anything comfortably. I returned this and found the older model online and bought it. Now I couldn't be happier.

Summary: Dissapointment I didn't see coming 2008-02-18
Comment: I received my Kensington LiquidFM Transmitter for iPod a few days before i took a road trip, thinking it would save me from having to dial through countless boring radio stations looking for a good tune. Well, I had no problems finding a good tune with my iPod, but still suffered the nuisance of flipping through radio stations.
My first problem came right off the bat when i plugged it in. It is smaller than the outlet it fits in, so it fits loosely into the outlet. One false bump and the thing shuts off. After getting it positioned properly, I had to find a station that had a weak enough signal that i wouldn't end up still hearing whats on the radio. Once that was settled, I was able to listen to my music happily. That is until i had to change stations to pick up a new signal. As i had expected, there was a static sound to the music, and when traveling through different areas, i would have to tune the transmitter and the radio to the proper stations to pick up my iPod again.
Don't get me wrong, when it worked, it worked well. I was very pleased to be able to listen to my music on my iPod on my car radio, but it's still a typical radio transmitter.
Don't expect to buy any sort of product like this thinking you'll have crystal clear music, and never have to change to another radio station. Such products just don't exist.
