Product Description
Spend more time enjoying your iPod tunes and less time searching for a station. QuickSeek technology finds the best FM signal in seconds, while ClearFM ensures great sound. Amazon.com Product Description
Spend more time enjoying your favorite iPod tunes and less time searching for a high-quality audio signal with the Kensington QuickSeek FM transmitter/car charger. Like other FM transmitters, the unit broadcasts your iPod's music through your vehicle's stereo speakers, so you can groove to your full digital music collection without buying an expensive iPod-compatible car stereo. But unlike with competing models, you don't have to fiddle with the transmitter for several minutes to find a static-free station. Instead, the unit's QuickSeek technology locates the best FM signal in mere seconds, making tuning easier than ever. All you have to do is connect the transmitter to your iPod's dock connector, plug the car charger into your vehicle's 12-volt power outlet, and you're set. The QuickSeek boasts Kensington's ClearFM technology, which delivers richer lows, crisper highs, and superior stereo separation with a "concert hall" effect--all through your regular stereo speakers. The ClearFM circuitry also includes the company's patented filtering technology, which results in the lowest harmonic distortion and signal-to-noise ratios of any FM transmitter on the market today--up to three times clearer than Kensington's competitors. Handiest of all, the detachable car charger isn't for iPods only, as it also works with other USB-powered devices, such as mobile or smartphones, PDAs, and more. Other details include three programmable preset buttons for storing FM stations, an ultra-bright display, and a detachable spacer to ensure a custom fit with iPod models in a case. The QuickSeek FM transmitter is backed by a two-year warranty. What's in the Box FM transmitter, car charger, user's manual.

Summary: Don't buy it 2008-06-10
Comment: Bad product - doesn't function when slighly warm - kind of counter-intuitive to design a product for use in the car that doesn't react well to heat, a car being a hot environment. Over all, it was a waste of money. My wife has a casette adaptor that I have hijacked, really DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Summary: Very nice! 2008-05-03
Comment: Working excellent for me. Used it with rental vehicles (2 different SUVs), using it on a 1996 Honda Accord, and a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire. Even used it with a portable radio while camping out and with my living room radio (before I bought cables). I love the fact that you can remove the charger in order to use it. Most transmitters I found when searching either needed to be connected or ran on the iPod's batteries that got drained very quickly. Having a GPS in my car connected to the power plug, I needed something that wasn't fully dependent on being connected all the time, but I didn't want to have limited play time as the batteries were drained, so this fits both worlds nicely. The only drawback I see is that with the transmitter plugged in, I cant close the case I have my iPod on...but hey, its worth the hassle. Of course, sometimes you have to find the right station, but with a few tweaks here and there you can find a suitable one, you have to understand the limits of your technology, don't expect this to be more powerful than a full blown radio station, if there's interference, find another frequency. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this product.

Summary: Too much work required 2008-03-31
Comment: This device requires too much tweaking. All stations sound scratchy. At times the sound comes in clear, but the majority of the time it just has too much static. Not worth the money.

Summary: Not too good 2008-02-22
Comment: Static too loud. Hard to get sync'd with a freq. At times it works but those times are few and far between. Way too much $$$$$ for the performance I have seen.

Summary: works great! 2008-02-08
Comment: Works great finding the best station on FM. Minimal static. I bought this after exchanging the "Monster Carplay Wireless" which was not compatible with my brothers ipod mini. This one will work with ipod mini.
