Summary: Not built for a car environment 2010-07-27
Comment: I found the sound quality and transmission power to be adequate. This FM transmitter has two serious flaws though:
1) It basically melted in my car's change tray. The front face plastic warped badly enough that the buttons are no longer usable. Also, the LCD no longer works; over a period of a couple of weeks, the LCD segments then the digits faded out. This occurred during June in Virginia -- not the hottest place or time of year. This is unacceptable in a device that is advertised as a car FM transmitter.
2) It has a strange interference pattern with my iPhone 3G. I expected the occasional "buzz" that most electronics experience around cell phones. What I did not expect was the cell phone to cause the transmitter to change radio stations. It acted like I was repeatedly pushing the memory button to switch between the three memory presets.
Bad juju. Stay away unless you're willing to take it with you and you also don't have an iPhone.

Comment: I love this transmitter. It's really esy to use and fits perfectly with my iPhone 4.

Summary: Not strong enough 2010-07-20
Comment: Bought this a long time ago, I remember that the signal was never strong enough to silence out the radio completely and I believe it broke fairly quickly.

Summary: Weak signal 2010-07-19
Comment: I knew these devices could be disappointing. I selected this one because reviews indicated it was better than others.
In use this one is also very disappointing. It is hard to get tuned and has a weak signal. It is then unstable as the car moves or the iPod is moved only inches.

Comment: This product is very easy to use, no directions necessary! I would recommend this to anyone for a car or even inside.
