In terms of charging, everything works as advertised. The 1000mA AC Adaptor and 500mA car adaptor lets me charge more than use my iPhone; I was able to charge a Microsoft Zune Media player and a AT&T Fuze mobile phone. Definitely good value if you ask me. From what I read the car adaptor's output isn't enough to charge the iPhone when it's being used. Being an engineer I can understand that from the specs, however my phone charged up while I played music. Note I had 3G on, wifi & bluetooth off. The one big minus for me is that the included sync cable will not allow me to sync my iPhone to my PC. When I plug in the cable my Vista x64 computer said I plugged in an unknown usb device. I've tried uninstalling and installing drivers to no end. I guess the only good thing that it does let me charge up the phone. This review is from: Griffin PowerDuo Home/Car Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G (Black) (Electronics) After reading about some of the issues others had with low priced chargers, I decided to spend a little more for a brand name, hoping to get a good product...and I did. Both the home charger and the car charger work perfectly with my iPod Touch 3G. Both chargers appear to have good quality construction and have indicator lights that change from red to green to indicate when the iPod is charged. Unlike some of the other cables, the cable that came with this product will charge the iPod and can be used to sync the iPod with iTunes. I just finished a sync and it works as well as the cable that came with the iPod. Note: the cable connector end that connects directly to the iPod has a button that is used to release it from the iPod before you remove the cable. Since the original iPod cable did not have this, I thought the new cable was stuck in the iPod when I tried to remove it the first time. A simple push of the button enables an immediate release from the iPod. 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Griffin PowerDuo Home/Car Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G (Black) (Electronics) I was looking for a reasonable alternative to the OEM wall and car charger for my new 4th Generation 32Gig iPod Touch. I got a little frustrated by the lack of clarity, detail and specifications on the description of this Griffin product's hardware compatability on Amazon's website. I am not a technical type so after going back and forth, back and forth between Griffin and Amazon's websites, I determined that this product would probably work for my new iPod - both for US and International travel. I just the whole package yesterday (iPod and Griffin chargers) and so far so good. Seems that these chargers will work on this newest 4th gen iPod. I won't know if the voltage conversion feature will work until I travel internationally later this year. The price went down substantially (about 28%) since I bought this item a little over a week ago so that was a bit of a disappointment for me but at the current low price, the quality appears to be there so it's a...Read more |
