I ordered the previous model due to its reviews and for whatever reason the company I ordered sent me this model which is the newer version which is fine by me. Works great with the tricks I learned from the previous model's reviews. If you hold down the "+" and "-" buttons together you will get the option to switch between LX (stereo) and DX (mono) modes. Keep holding it down while they're flashing and you'll get the option to change it to international mode and if your car stereo can tune to 87.7 or 87.9 you can have the iTrip broadcast at these 2 frequencies which are international frequencies and no stations in the US use these so you'll have a great experience. I am actually getting better quality sound from this than I have with the several Monster Cable FM Transmitters that I've gone through over the years. Buy this and you won't be disappointed ^_^

This worked very well for me - I actually found the "international" setting of 87.9 to be not as good as other stations (e.g. 107.5).
Also, you have to buy a charger usb cable (or use the one that comes with your iPhone...) - realized that later.
Important tips to make it work better:
1. Make sure your iPhone or iPod's volume is up very high - that allows you not to have to turn up the car radio volume (and also therefore less static...). That made a huge difference.
2. Try to keep the charger cable and sound output cable separated - if they touch, you get noise
Good,

Bought this for my husband so we don't have to rely on the radio for long trips(and short too). The only thing is that sum times other stations wavelengths interfere but when u get past the location, its a okay.
