Summary: Great product! 2008-08-28
Comment: This is a very good product. Before you complain about the sound quality, You must try:
* Using various stations.
* Holding the preset button for 15 seconds until the US pops up. Then switch it to international mode. This lets you set it to 87.7 - 87.9. These stations are rarely used and should give good quality.

The only con I would say for this product is the fact that my MP3 player can't charge AND play at the same time (because its OLD), but that shouldn't be a problem for most people.

This product is great for everyone because it is UNIVERSAL. You can use this product for years to come without having to buy a new transmitter for EVERY mp3 player you buy.

Summary: Eh, not real impressed 2008-08-26
Comment: At first glance I liked this FM transmitter. I just got a Zen 16 GB mp3 player, so I ordered all the accessories for it at the same time - travel charger, screen protector kit, skin, and this iTrip transmitter. I chose this transmitter because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews here on Amazon. But after using it for a couple days, I'm ready to return it.

First off, the instructions are quite lacking. If I hadn't read down thru these reviews, I would have not been able to use it because I wouldn't have known you could change the setting from US to Int'l in order to pick up 87.9 frequency. That is the ONLY frequency by me that I can use without major radio station interference. But in the US (default) setting the lowest frequency you can get on the trasmitter is 88.1. So it'd sure be nice if the "instructions" on the back of the packaging insert would mention this little (important!) tidbit.

Also, the instructions say that if it detects no music for however long, it has an Auto Shutoff feature. Which is fine, if that's how it would work. I plugged it in this morning on my way to work to listen to some of my music that I downloaded this weekend, and it kept turning off by itself even though it was right in the middle of a song! What's up with that?! I finally just unplugged the thing in frustration and listened to a radio station.

And thirdly, any time you move the unit or the cord the slightest little bit when it IS working, I get major loud (because you have to have the volume turned up so high in order to hear it thru the car speakers) "bumping" interference noises. The fm transmitter that my husband has for his iPod Nano doesn't do this at all.

If anyone has any resolutions to these problems I'm having, I'm willing to listen and try them. Otherwise, I think I'm sending this back and getting a different brand.

Summary: The best I've found so far 2008-08-25
Comment: I've tried several FM transmitters and never managed to find one that works for me because the airwaves are so crowded here. I decided to give this one a shot because else who had reviewed it was so excited about the international mode and I figured it had to work for me since there are no US stations using that frequency, right?

It never occurred to me that I should check the radio in my car to be sure it goes down that low. It doesn't.

That said, I've still managed to find a couple of frequencies that work reasonably well for me - not crystal clear, but better than wearing headphones while driving.

So, overall, it's definitely a great product. Just remember to check your car stereo before purchasing.

Summary: iTrip Universal Plus FM Transmitter and Power 2008-08-13
Comment: This is the perfect Transmitter. We tried other ones but this one really worked. I like the fact that I can charge either one of my players I have 2 diffrent types while I travel. the reception is really good and clear if you find a clear station with the ablity to select from quite a few staions you should have no problem with that. I recommend this product.

Summary: Nice Features, Horrible Quality 2008-07-24
Comment: I bought this product for 60 bucks at radio shack so that I could charge my mp3 player in the car and listen to it without using all my open cigarette lighters. It features a USB charger, an FM transmitter, and a nice backlit lcd screen to change the station with. However, this device gets too much interference and I find myself constantly searching to find a clear radio station to try it on. even the smallest bit of static will garble this thing up. I ended up just throwing it in the trash and continued to use my old $10 transmitter I got at meijer. While this Transmitter struggles to overcome the tiniest bit of static, my cheapo one can operate with decent quality, and I don't even have to search for an unused station. Yes, the cheapo non-brand transmitter has enough strength to block any interfering signals out, while this one cannot. My advice, don't waste your money and go with somthing else.
