I've had multiple iTrips from Griffin Technology, and this is my latest addition. Not only does it work well with your iPod, iPod Touch and iPhone, but it ALSO works with (and charges) the iPad!
Now for the secret... By default, the iTrip is enabled for U.S. use, which limits the FM frequency range that it can transmit on. However, you can enable two other modes, that allow it to transmit to a broader frequency range. Don't try to find this info on Griffin's website. And they won't tell you how when you call support either. But here's how it's done...
With the iTrip plugged into a power socket:
1) Press the Menu button repeatedly until you get to the screen that allows you to change options.
2) Press and HOLD the Reset button, and US will flash in the left lower corner.
3) Press the button again, and US will change to EU (European Union) frequencies. Press again for JP (Japan) frequencies.
4) Press the Menu button to return to the main...Read more

I owned a Griffin FM transmitter for my older 8Gb iPod Nano, which worked really well, so I decided I would do with Griffin again for an FM Transmitter and Charger for my iPhone 4.
Unfortunately Griffin has reduced the quality of the electronics they are using for the FM Transmitter packed with the iTrip. I tried several FM stations in the San Diego area like 104.1 and 98.5 which have very high static reception (no station bleed over). The iTrip was unable to produce a strong enough signal where music would play with out static coming through. My older Griffin FM transmitter played just fine on these stations. I went to Best Buy and bought another Griffin iTrip and it too had the same exact quality problem. I tried the Belkin FM Transmitter and Charger for the iPhone and the product played music with exceptional quality.
I returned the iTrip and decided to go with the Belkin. No offense to Griffin, but this time around the iTrip is just terrible and they need to...Read more

For the most part the transmitter worked fine. Maybe it was me or I picked a bad one from the lot, but I found the signal strength to be weak. I was able to locate unused frequencies and play music, but I had to really turn up the radio to hear the music. I tried other frequencies but pretty much the same. A stronger signal would eliminate interferences.
