Summary: Does it good 2009-11-13
Comment: I ordered this based on reviews,and it worked much better than I expected. Right out of the box,with the initial preset, it came through loud and clear. Volume on the radio will end up quite loud,so be prepared when you unhook it.I was shopping for a transmitter,and just want to say that folks who work in consumer electronics stores are happy to give you opinions on products, but might be be full of s**t (as in this case).Read reviews from actual consumers when looking to buy;it's saved me from disappointment on a number of occasions.

I payed $45 for this at the AAFES Military BX. I used it when I drove from Hawthorne Nevada to Las Vegas Nevada, and then back to Hawthorne, Nevada and it was giving me static every now and then causing me to switch stations every 20 minutes, give or take.
So I just gave in and sucked it up and listened to white noise every now and then.
I also bought a Griffin ear bud to listen to the iPod when I am not in the car, that is aweful as well, no bass, very high treble.
I will never buy another Griffin product again. I should have tried Belkin or some other product.
I live in Seattle and the iTrip FM Transmitter is even worst.
The only good thing that I like about this product is that it charges the iPod. That's all.
I have a tape adapter and it broke, so when I get the chance to go back to Walmart, I will buy a tape adapter and throw the Griffin products away. It's a crappy product, at least the ones I bought, unfortunately. Never again.

Comment: Bought this for playing my ipod music thru my car radio.Very easy to hook up and works perfectly.I recommend this product highly for this use of playback music.
