I am extremely disappointed with this cable.

For one, it is TOO SHORT. The "relaxed" length is approximately 10 inches, but can only stretch comfortably to maybe 21-22". Way too short for use in my truck from a USB-type cigarette/12V socket to my iPhone/iPod. As a comparison, I have an iGo Auto Charger and the coiled cord can stretch easily to 3 feet, is very pliable and returns to its normal coiled self perfectly. The only reason I am looking for a USB to Dock coiled cable is to connect it to my Sync-equipped truck which has a USB connection that can both power and access the iPhone/iPod.

Second, it's TOO STIFF. One use with it stretched to the aforementioned 21" limit and the coil doesn't return completely compressed as it came from out of the box. Repeated use will definitely result in "sag" and loose coiling.

All unacceptable unless you plan on keeping your iPhone/iPod very close to the power source most of the time.

Disappointing is the least I can say about this product.

First of all it very very very short, so if you are using to charge in your car, you will not be able to lift the phone your ear level while attached to charger. Even if being charged from a USB on your laptop it is still too short to do that.

The quality is awful, a coiled cable can usually be extended a bit and retract back to original length, but this one has very limited extension and it feels like it will not retract back as it is not flexible as it should be.

This cable suits my needs perfectly. Some people reviewing this product complain that it's too short, clearly they didn't do their research. It is a well made cable serving it's purpose well and is just the perfect length for my requirements, making for a tidy arrangement connecting my iPhone/Pod to my head unit without superfluous unsightly lengths of cable getting in the way. Do your research, find out what you need and get it right the first time...
