Summary: Good transmitter, bad charger 2008-04-08
Comment: This product transmits great, but it won't work as a charger for my sansa e250.

Summary: Good... until 2008-03-25
Comment: I have a sansa e280 and when I got this I was extremely happy with it. Let's face facts though, you're going to plug and unplug this thing all the time and within a couple of months the "plastic" connector chips away and no all you get is on/off static.

If Macally would have made the connector of metal this would have been perfect. Now however, I'm going to replace it with one that does (DLO)

Summary: Yes - and it works ! 2008-01-31
Comment: I purchased a Sansa e260 for my wife for Christmas and also bought another type of fm transmitter (Belkin). The Belkin worked poorly with static regardless of the station, plus since it was plugged into the headset of the Sansa it made for a ton of cords (one to power the Sansa, one to power the transmitter and one from the Sansa to the transmitter - messy). So then I thought I'd try another type by going directly to my cassette player. It too worked poorly with background hissing and again too many cords. I was initially reluctant to purchase the Mcally SN-FMCUP due to the transmittal problems (static) I had with the Belkin but the main reason I purchased the mp3 was for in the vehicle. When I received the Mcally I was initially impressed with how securely it held my Sansa e260 in place (I could even hold it upside down without it falling out). The transmitter fits nicely into any of the cuphoders in our Chrysler minivan. The transmitter works great !!!! No static whatsoever! Another nice feature is that it automatically adjusts the sound level to 50%. The volume level works just as if I were listening to a regular fm station with no need to adjust volume if I switched stations. Now no extra cords - just one that goes to the charger/transmitter - it's nearly inconspicous. The only "problem" I see is that it is somewhat difficult to turn to power off on my Sansa while in the transmitter as the power button is 25% coverd by the holder. The transmitter has a power button but it only works for the transmitter, it will not shut off the Sansa. I love the thing.

Summary: Not As Great As It Seems 2008-01-25
Comment: I wouldn't get this product again for several reasons.

It's a bulky item and as much as I thought I'd always want my player in the cup holder, often times I didn't.

It's difficult to see the display. There were plenty of times I had difficulty seeing what station it was set to.

It doesn't hold the player securely. The player never fell out but going over even small bumps or roads that cause vibration would cause the connection to loosen. When that happens the sound isn't good.

This transmitter has a cord that runs from the headphone jack to the base. It also has a slot to put the player in for charging. As soon as you put the player in the slot, it will turn on by itself. The player will sound through the car speakers if it's just in the charger. It will also sound through the car speakers if it is just plugged into the headphone jack via the cord. However, unless you plug it into the headphone jack and the charging slot it will not sound the best. The cable it comes with is pretty weak and began crackling even though it was cared for and never kinked up or otherwise abused. Combined with the fact that the player can jiggle from the charger connection it makes for some very frustrating car rides.

If you don't have a lot of room around your cup holder, or your cup holder gets in the way when it's in use, avoid this transmitter.

Summary: Works but not perfectly 2007-12-28
Comment: This transmitter does exactly what it claims to. It will broadcast music on your sansa to the radio. However the volume is somewhat low even with the sansa turned to max. Also there is static often and choosing a good clear channel is tricky.

These complaints probably apply to most fm transmitters so other than that this is a well built and convenient product.
