I read many of the reviews for this product before I made my purchase, so I had no misconceptions about how well it might work for my application. As many have already stated, the plug and 'goose neck' have a hard time handling the weight of these new smart phones. It does not want to remain in place when used in a more vertical mounting, such as in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, however I was somewhat prepared for this. I am going to install a separate power socket on the dash nearer to the driver's side, and make a small bracket to attach the upper part of the mount to the dash to support the weight. It will make it slightly less portable, but I primarily bought it for use in this vehicle.

The actual phone mount is what I had hope for. It fits my Galaxy S T-959 with the OEM gel case very well and appears to hold it tightly. The kit supplied the correct USB cable to connect to the phone for charging (it's plenty long so I left it coiled and tied). The 3.5mm plug for the...Read more
