Comment: Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase. Sound quality ranges from good to fair, at times. If you're in the middle of nowhere, there's usually no problem finding an open station; setting the unit to that frequency; and playing music at a decent volume.
There is a challenge in metro areas, even when there is no station broadcasting on a given frequency. Despite, say, 90.3 FM being nothing but white noise on the car radio, this unit struggles to maintain a clear, undistorted, continuous signal when set to that frequency. Also, the volume of the original content is attenuated, making it hard, and sometimes impossible, to `crank the music.'
The TransPod has some design usability challenges, too. It is very annoying that you have to remove the iPod from the dock to scroll downward, or use the round dial when navigating on the iPod. In fact, this really bothers me, taking it in and out of the "shoe" all the time, having to take my eyes quite a bit off the road. The TransPod could have been designed better to allow for this while driving.
For $50 this is *fair* value for money, but I'd only recommend the unit on that basis of price. If you have more money to spend you might want to; friends that have units in the $100 range seem more satisfied with them.

Comment: haven't had a problem with this ipod transpod. love not having any cords to worry about. didn't even need to use the extender arm, even tho my lighter plugin is in an odd spot. get pretty good reception.

Comment: I recently purchased an iPod Touch and since I have an older vehicle without a direct input jack to my radio I needed a way of playing the iPod through the radio. I had an old cassette unit that worked fairly well, but the Transpod provides a much better sound. It also overrides the iPod volume and transmits at a set volume. The sound level is controlled only by the radio which I think is easier than trying to fool around with both volume controls. It comes with an amazing array of connectors to attach it to your cigarette lighter or 12V power port. This also provides flexibility so it will fit any dashboard layout. I also like the fact that it charges the iPod too. I would definitely recommend this product.

Comment: I have tried many transmitters but this product was the solution to my ipod transmitter needs. It holds perfect clarity while I am on the road, its sturdy, well made and very easy to use.
