Summary: Works great for me 2007-09-14
Comment: I have a video iPod and it fit into the device perfectly. It is plastic but it's very durable, and the joints can be tightened by hand if they start to loosen. I believe the reviews by others who had problems with quality, but that has not been my experience. I would definitely recommend this device and I would buy it again myself.

Summary: Lacks in Durability and Adaptability 2007-06-30
Comment: Had mine for a few months and just after the warranty expired, mine had the following issues:
1) The buttons got stuck while being pushed in during normal use. This happened on both sides rendering the thing unusable, as either it was stuck on a single station or constantly scanning stations. I had to disect the thing to fix it...but the buttons still stick from time to time. Not worth the hassle to take it apart everytime they get stuck.
2) At first it worked fine in my car, although I noticed the connection in the lighter was a little loose, but if I angled the product just right using the extender arms I could get it in a position where it did not budge on tight turns. But I noticed over time the connection got even looser and eventually I found it nearly impossible to keep the Transpod upright when taking corners. It worked fine in our other car, because it was not necessary to use the extender arm...but adjusting the transpod between cars was another huge hassle. Not great for use in multiple cars.
Overall, yes, it worked fine for awhile...but it soon turned into a peice of junk just after the warranty expired. There are plenty of cheaper alternatives out there. Yes, most of those don't have a nice dock to hold the iPod...but it's not worth the extra $75 when it does not worth efficiently.

Comment: I like the way my new Transpod works.I borrowed another brand before I bought this one, and I didn't think I would even buy a product like this. It had bad reception and the volume was limited. I like the way the Transpod takes the line out and lets me crank the volume on my car stereo.
