This cable looks more substantial than the original one that came with my Samsung player. Connects to both the player and USB ports in my computer and chargers without problems. It even has one nice feature that my original cable didn't have: the triangle on the player-side connector lights up when connected to something. If I connect player to the charger, the triangle stays red as long as the player is being charged, then turns green. If I connect player to my computer, the triangle stays green when there is no data transfer, or flickers red when data is transferred. Be careful though: if you disconnect cable from the charger/computer, but leave it connected to the player, the triangle will be lit with constant green, slowly draining your player's battery...

It is, by far, the cheapest possible way to get this semi-proprietary cable, and it works perfectly. I honestly don't know what more one could possibly ask for.
More detail about the item: on the end of the cable that connects to the device, there's a little arrow with LED light indicator that glows different colors depending on what's happening (I haven't taken note of what each color stands for, other than green for connected on USB end); the light's not bright in any way, but it's clearly visible. I don't know what the light has to do with the performance of the product itself, and I assume the light's operation is actually completely separate from the data transfer functions.
It's right about the same length as the original Samsung YP-T9 cable that I lost and replaced with this cheapy.

Basically, if you need this cable, I don't know why you wouldn't get this.

It's cheap and does what it's supposed to, surprisingly, it even charges my phone. It's still working after a couple of months.
