Summary: LOVE IT! 2008-07-06
Comment: I have wanted to be able to play my iPod in my car and didn't want to have to go through the hassle of having it wired to do so. My friend bought this at Best Buy for twice the price but said it was really great...none of the problems of earlier versions. I bought it on Amazon at a great price and it works perfectly. I have traveled with it and have had to change the station only once. The channel it says to use is always perfect. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Save your money 2008-07-04
Comment: This product isn't very good. Add to that, it takes a lot of effort to unpackage it, which makes returning it a chore. The only way I could get this to work clearly, was to make sure I was physically touching the gooseneck on the product. For the most part, all I got was static. And the "Clear Scan" feature is great in theory only. That hasn't worked well for me.
I've gotten close to trashing this several times. Will actually throw it out soon.

Comment: Purchased the Belkin Tunebase with ClearScan with some hesitation. It would have been great to just plug an Ipod into my car, but without the proper connections this becomes an expensive alternative. For the money the Belkin unit was worth a try.
The Tunebase is really easy to set up and use. Multiple, included pieces allow it to work with various models of Ipod. When placed in the power/lighter, the unit stays in place well.
Searching for a clear FM station is as easy as pressing a button and matching the display with the proper station on the vehicles FM radio.
As you travel the system will start to hiss when an FM signal is weakening just like with your radio. Press the Tunebase button, look at the display, change the radio station and back to your recorded music.
You will need to turn up your radio volume a bit higher than usual, but then you will have good sound through the system.
Don't hesitate to purchase this unit for your Ipod.

Summary: clearscan feature not so great 2008-06-30
Comment: i found this item to work for me. i live in a rural area & it works great. i drove to pittsburg, pa last week and had to keep changing the channel manually...the clearscan feature isn't all that great. however the Pro setting actually does make a difference in the sound quality. i drive a dodge intrepid and had no problems with my lighter (some people reported having damaged there lighters while using this device). overall i am very satisfied with this purchase and the price was very reasonable. i like the fact that my ipod continues to charge while my vehicle is turned on.

Summary: Excellent Choice for pre-2007 Car Audio 2008-06-30
Comment: Most pre-2007 OEM car audio systems were not equipped for external MP3 players. This handy device works very well, with clear digital sound (when a suitable FM frequency is found, 88.1 works well for me). The sound is very clear, with no static or engine noise that I could detect. It's also nice since this unit can be easily moved from car to car with a simple plug-in into the cigarette lighter. I highly recommend this unit for iPod users who want a fast and simple way to listen to their players with no tinkering with their car audio system. It's simple to operate, only took about 5 minutes to figure it out with the provided instructions.
