I use my headphones a lot and I have been through 4 of these in the past 4 or 5 months. The wires either pull out around the on/off volume switch or near the plug for my Ipod. It is getting expensive to replace the adapter every month or so especially since the price just jumped from $8.99 to $12.99.
It was nice because I could stop and start what I was listening to without pulling out my Ipod. I tried the other adapter that had the switch and volume control but, it broke in about 2 weeks. I know that Belkin has a year warranty on these but, I have never looked into getting a replacement from the company.

Alas I barely knew you Belkin...I eagerly purchased your slim form from Amazon in November. Now its early February and the thrill, along with your volume control, is gone. Delicate wiring going in and out of a subtle smooth switch was nice to touch, but pulled out and frayed with normal daily travel in and out of the A train. What I suspect is that the physical strain of commuting in New York City was too much for you (but hope that it was not the Wagner I have been listening to lately). No doubt your a fine item if confined to use by those who drive or walk to work. Alas, for people living in more, how shall I say it, "compromised" commuting regimes, your just not for them [two stars fro effort under difficult circumstances] So a question: does anyone know what the troops in Iraq use to adjust their iPod volume? This product was a life saver as my son keeps breaking his ipod headphones. This solves my problem of having to buy the expensive ipod headsets for him.
