I bought this product because I hate cables. I keep it plugged into a USB port on my laptop and it works very well. I can charge my shuffle and transfer music to it with this cool little device. It is, however, a bit over priced but I bundled it with something else and got free super saver shipping.

I ordered 2 chargers and neither one of them works. When one responded, I received an error message about a power surge.

I don't want to give this a bad rating, because I bought it for a use for which it wasn't intended.

I have a 3rd generation Shuffle, and a 4th generation Shuffle, and one sync cable between them. Before spending $20 (almost half the cost of a new Shuffle!) on an authorized replacement, I decided I'd give this inexpensive one a try. The connections appear to be the same, after all.

So for anyone who's tempted like I was:
It didn't work.
