Sounds great. The i2i and the Kensington use the same transmitter technology by Aerielle Technologies, Inc. The Kensington (not the LiquidFM) is one of the best FM transmitter that I have used, so far the i2i has been just as good.
I like the soft touch finish of the unit. It has a smooth matte soft feel but is not actually "soft". I don't have the RDS equipped radio in my car, so I don't know how well that feature works. Didn't give it 5 stars for two reasons. It's not fully compatible with the 3rd generation ipod. (That is the one that used firewire to charge and sync) It will play through the unit fine, but does not charge the unit. The old Kensington unit will charge and play the 3rd gen. ipod. And the plug fits loosely in european cars like Volkswagens. For some reason the europeans use a slightly larger barrel for their lighter plugs and some plugs fit so loosely that...Read more 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Aerielle i2i RDS FM Transmitter for iPod (Electronics) This product is easy to use, plugs in and works. The problem is my I Pod stops playing at least 3 times per song and I have to continuously press play to get it to play again. It acts as if I unplugged the transmitter. Not happy at all, I will throw it out the window as soon as I get a different one. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Aerielle i2i RDS FM Transmitter for iPod (Electronics) Cosmetically similar to a transmitter for Sansa MP3 players from Maximo, this Aerielle unit outperforms the others I've used. Distortion levels are very good (lets say 'virtually non-existant'), and music sounds fantastic. A few weeks prior to purchasing this item I bought Grantwood Technologies transmitter for iPod and found it really lacking in sound quality, unnecessarily large AND it kept popping out of cars' power adapter - can you say "all aboard the FAILBOAT?" There is a nice feel to the pointy buttons on the i2i and they are spaced in such a way that you can find them by feel without having to look at them. The i2i also switches stations much faster than either of the other FM transmitters I've used. The recharge time on my iPod Touch is within an hour for full charge, which is just right for my commute. The i2i has an auto-off feature that is annoying and completely fantastic all at once. When you use one of these units for long enough you WILL forget to unplug...Read more |
