This review is from: AC to USB Power Supply - Perfect for MP3 Players (Electronics) Purchased 2 of these, fulfilled by importer520, from Amazon. They're useless.Label claims 300-500mA output, +-50mA. Sustained output <250mA. Most modern chargers are 1A to 1.5A. So, this is 1/4th to 1/6th that. This is why other reviews mention devices crashing, and not charging. Will not charge anything requiring >1A. Barely charges 1A devices. For example the Nexus One pulls about 730mA. A 1A wall charger charges it in about 2-2.5 hours. A 480mA USB 2.0 connection charges it in 4-5 hours. This lame adapter takes 8-10 hours to achieve same charge (tested many times). So 200-250mA at best. Devices pulling >1mA will crash or go dead using this. Wish Amazon would publish specs. Otherwise - no way to tell if improved, or recommend. This review is from: AC to USB Power Supply - Perfect for MP3 Players (Electronics) This is a nice compact, out-of-the way power supply. It folds especially compactly for storage. My only fault-finding was in what I plugged into it, a coffee cup warmer--failed miserably, which was no fault of the power sypply, which performed perfectly as advertised.Neal Wilson. This review is from: AC to USB Power Supply - Perfect for MP3 Players (Electronics) It may not be the advertised use, but i purchased to use as a spare phone charger. As soon as i plugged it into the wall with the data cord provided by my cell phone carrier, my phone froze and crashed. Tried again with same result. Works fine for charging my ipod. |
